Inshallah: A Documentary Journey through the Gaza Strip
As part of the ICAN project Inshallah, a feature length documentary chronicling life in Gaza under siege was shown in the Playhouse Theatre in November 2010.
The documentary is a series of interwoven profiles of Gazans living under siege is being produced and directed by the American filmmaker Maurice Jacobsen. The project is a close collaboration with the Gaza media community with direct support from Aatif Eisa of the Media Group, Gaza City.
The screening featured a live two-way Teleconference Q&A session at the conclusion of the documentary between the local audiences and Gaza participants in the documentary.
“The goal of the project is to show Gaza as a society that is diverse, intelligent, hard working and creative”, so states the director Maurice Jacobsen, “at the same time it is a community that is deeply troubled, living under a complete political, economic and military siege.”
