Residency with LeBouc sur le Toit

French Theatre Company LeBouc sur le Toit’s residency with ICAN involved a two-day playwriting workshop whereby they, alongside local participants, examined the core themes of Shakespeare’s Henry V.

Members of the community availed of a unique opportunity to get the chance to recreate Henry V. Le Bour sur le Toit are particularly interested in gaining a local perspective to form a new adaptation of this renowned play drawing on Irish history to give an added dimension to this text.

Le Bouc sur le Toit are a Paris based theatre company who consisted of French actor, Luc Guiol, French director Virginia berthier and set designer Juliette Morel. Using themes in text, they work with local participants to explore the representations of strangers and/or enemies, political rhetorical nationalism.
